SHOPPING (of course)
What’s any list of fun things to do if shopping isn’t included?
To be honest, we are not that big on shopping, but in Langebaan it is a pleasure to stroll among the different shops. These range from colourful gift shops, nurseries, a tiny deli with high quality meats, wonderful Portuguese cafΓ©, loads of coffee shops and even a small mall with all the necessary shops a tourist (and the locals) could wish for.
Here are just a few shops we like to visit:
GIFT SHOPS

The clothes at these shops are really beautiful

Anni se Markie (Anni’s Market) – a shop I visit often for its colourful bowls and scarfs

Three different shops next to each other – Gin bar, Angel Rose (clothes/jewellery shop) and a kite shop
NURSERIES
No, not the kind that accommodate small kids (although, there are quite a few of these in Langebaan too). We are now referring to plants. One of the nurseries we visit regularly is ‘Die Kyjirhys’ (loosely translated ‘a place where friends meet’). There is a large area at the back of this shop with plants to pick and choose. If you like succulents, this is the perfect place to visit. At the front of the shop is a small seating area where meals are served (their milkshakes are delicious). You can also order ready-made meals to take home. And there are a few shelves with products such as jam and rusks, as well as small gifts.

MEAT DELI
Although fresh meat is available in any of the big grocery stores, there is a place called ‘Wild Butcher’ that sells great cuts of any meat of choice. It is definitely worth a visit if you want to invite your friends over for a ‘braai’ (barbecue).

CAFE LISBOA
This tiny cafΓ© is packed with the most delicious Portuguese sauces and dishes. If you are a lover of seafood, don’t walk past this cafΓ©. Their mussels and prawns are heavenly, and their homemade Portuguese sauces the best.

Cafe Lisboa – authentic Portuguese food
LAGUNA MALL
A mall is just another mall, isn’t it? But still, there is something special about Laguna Mall here in Langebaan. It offers a wide variety of shops for all shopping needs. And the bonus β lots of free parking.
- The mall was renovated in 2023, and the corridors are now super wide which means there is more than enough space for visitors to walk without feeling cramped.

COFFEE SHOPS
What’s a town without good coffee shops βοΈ? Here are a few we drop in from time to time:

FOODERIA
At Fooderia you will not only get good coffee and pastries, but also a glass of wine! With the lagoon and beach just a few meters away, it’s great to enjoy something sweet and cold at Fooderia.

AND THEN … THERE’S THIS CAFΓ!
If you ever visit Langebaan, there is one place you must see! When you drive towards Shark Bay, you are surprised with a cafΓ© that has a view you can only dream of. At The Shark Bay Shack great coffee is served, as well as soft drinks and light snacks. Find your way to the top of the cafΓ© and enjoy your coffee while you have a lovely view of the Langebaan lagoon!

There are of course many more shops that we have not mentioned here. But hey, come and visit Langebaan – you won’t regret it.
What a great place for a vacation! Thank you for sharing it!

I enjoyed clothes shopping but I can’t remember the name… It might have started with a K… It was a boutique and had very unusual garments which I still own.

Is it maybe Kat-too?

Yes Kat-too… I thought it was Kat something π then I thought no can’t be. That must have been about 10 or 11 years ago.

Now, that I think about it, it is a strange name π. And when I’ve last checked, they were still there … close to Pearly’s.
