VISIT CLUB MYKONOS

Once you’re in the center of Club Mykonos, you might be excused of thinking you are in the heart of Greece … thanks to the beautifully painted kalivas (accommodation inspired by Greek architecture), white sandy beaches and turquoise water 😉.

Many years ago, back in 1996 when we got married, we were dreaming of a honeymoon in Greece … and Club Mykonos in Langebaan was the closest to our Greek dream our finances could allow 😄. It is therefore no wonder we love visiting this resort so much!
You will find a picturesque marina with walk-on moorings for all manner of watercraft. Here you will be able to find yacht charters that will take you out on the lagoon – perfect entertainment for a summer holiday (or even just a day!)

If you are a scuba diver, you are in luck as well! You can explore the sea (or just a gentle dive in the marina) with Langebaan Divers. They have all the necessary equipment for rental and offers a wide variety of scuba dives.

With a total of nine restaurants at Club Mykonos, you will definitely not go hungry! One can choose between lively cocktail bars, a farm kitchen which is literally on the beach, the ever popular and trendy Cape Town Fish Market or even German cuisine offered by Kapstadt Brauhaus … you are spoiled for choices!

In the Agora Square you will find wonderful gift shops, a marina supermarket or for the more adventurous there is a shop that offers trips on Harley Davidsons. Don’t forget about the Agora Beach and Sport Shop with a wide range of clothes, bags, toys, etc. And yes … of course you can also buy your favourite ice-cream here 🍦🍦.

Club Mykonos has so many activities to keep one busy … name it, and it’s here! Rides on wet bikes, quad biking, an indoor pool, games room and mini-golf (putt-putt) to name but a few. And don’t miss out on the La Vita Spa where you can have facials, massages and much more!

To take a leisurely walk through Club Mykonos, puts your mind on instant holiday-mood! It almost feels as if the sun is always shining here, doesn’t matter whether it’s summer or winter!

Of course, Club Mykonos is also known for the Mykonos Casino where you can win incredible prizes … should you be so lucky! There are two more restaurants inside the Casino – the Black Pearl Restaurant or the more casual Marisol Diner restaurant.

Club Mykonos is definitely worth a visit when you’re in Langebaan – whether you want to stay for a holiday, having fun at some of the entertaining activities or are just looking for a place to have something to eat or drink … you will love this place … a place that looks and feels like Greece, but is pure South African 😃.

Looks heavenly. I could do with some of that right now!

This certainly looks like a wonderful resort, especially for a honeymoon! I love the way they use the term Agora Square as agora is the Greek word for market.
There is certainly no shortage of places to eat either. I remember years ago eating in a brilliant fish restaurant in central London called the Cape Town Fish Rstaurant, which is now sadly closed. I wonder if it was part of the same organisation or if they just ripped off the name.

The Cape Town Fish Market is a franchise and I’ve read the one in London was actually part of this (for 10 years). We still have a couple of these restaurants in South Africa, but I think the economy has sadly done them no favours.
Yes, everything about Club Mykonos is Greek – the names (like “agora”), the architecture and even the writing … it surely was a great honeymoon destination for us … however, we hope to visit the real Greek Island one day 😄

I was on Mykonos years ago (1987) and it was chaos, the ultimate party island, full of drugs, lunatic drinking (even lunatic by my standards!)

Oh … maybe we should reconsider 😳

In fairness, I did revisit some years later and the Mayor and local Council had cracked down a lot, it was much less hectic. I think they were going for the family island look.
