We’ve mentioned briefly about our visits to Lavender Blue Market before (read here and here), but we think it needs a little more recognition. It really is one of those places where not only the food is delicious, but while you’re there you’re also surrounded by lovely scenery that makes it easy to forget about work and deadlines for a few hours.

You can’t miss the sign of Lavender Blue Market

We go there often – especially for a late breakfast on a Saturday. During winter there are enough tables inside where you can stay out of the cold, but in summer there is nothing better than sitting outside under the trees or sun umbrellas and next to the dam while enjoying their delicious food.

On our recent visit, it was late morning and the rush of visitors had probably already passed. There were plenty of open tables inside, but we were hoping to get a table outside. And we were lucky to find one next to the dam.

Lavender Blue Market is quite popular – during the week there are always people having their office meetings over a cup of coffee and on weekends it’s time for families and friends to relax here.

Michelle’s Garden Nursery is also a favourite place on their premises that we love to drop by. Beautiful plants, flowers and herbs are for sale here.

Lavender – an appropriate plant for Lavender Blue Market

Lavender Blue Market is very famous for their Poke bowls, pizzas and tasty burgers. But it’s their all-day breakfast that we love and their coffee is great (coming from me who is a tea drinker, that’s a huge compliment). However, we always make sure to order their freshly squeezed juices too – the Lavender Juice with apple, carrot and pineapple is our favourite. Oh, and during summer nothing beats their fresh Watermelon Shake.

Their Mosbolletjie Breakfast is by far our all-time favourite. One of us will always order that and their muffins are huge – rest assured, you won’t leave Lavender Blue Market hungry.

Summer at Lavender Blue Market

There is a safe play area for the kids and a green lawn where they can run around to their heart’s content.

After enjoying our meals, we always walk over to The Pantry, Lavender Blue Market’s deli with shelves full of all kinds of goodies. On the way there, I always peek at their cake display (and promise myself that next time I’ll skip breakfast and just eat pudding).

And I can’t help but take a quick stroll through their gift shop as well. I always find a unique gift here (whether it’s for a friend or myself). You can even buy something special for your four-legged friend here if you wish.

There is also an upstairs area in Lavender Blue Market where you can sit – so, you can see, there is plenty of space for everyone to come and have a good time here.

On the premises of Lavender Blue Market there are also a few other businesses that are worth a visit. At Funky Monkey you will be able to buy delicious ice cream. If you like crafts, you can paint your own ceramic pieces at Clay @ Lavender or make your own jewellery at Stoep Designs. There is also an art studio and decor shop. Oh yes, and if you’re in need of accommodation, look no further than Lavender B&B. Can you now understand why Lavender Blue Market is such a favourite spot for locals and tourists alike?

We are very happy that our house is just around the corner from Lavender Blue Market. There are few things as great as popping in here, whether it’s summer or winter.
