We are now almost at the end of our December/January holiday posts in Langebaan. However, there is always one place we visit just before we leave Langebaan that is close to our hearts (probably because we had our honeymoon there in 1996), namely the Greek-inspired Club Mykonos.

With our holiday almost at an end, we were very happy when our good friends invited us and my mom to join them for dinner at the popular Kapstadt Brauhaus restaurant in Club Mykonos.

Kapstadt Brauhaus has both indoor and outdoor seating. As it was a hot summer evening in Langebaan, we were very happy to get a table outside next to the Marina of Club Mykonos.

Ordinary boats and fancy yachts

It was now that time of the year where we could sit back and chat about what our expectations are for the year ahead. While the men each ordered a beer and my mom a glass of wine, Fiela and I could not help but start the evening with a cocktail and wish for a joyful new year.

While we were waiting for our dinner, we couldn’t get enough of the incredibly beautiful sunset.

You can explore the Langebaan lagoon on various day trips and sunset cruises offered by Tropico charters at Club Mykonos. Back in 1996 Berto and I enjoyed a similar sunset cruise on our honeymoon. It was nice to see the fairly new Tropico coming back from a sunset cruise.

We could still see the last of the Christmas lights at Club Mykonos, but soon they will also be taken down … until they make their appearance again in 11 months’ time. The lights looked beautiful against the last colours of the setting sun.

With the sun finally over the horizon, we enjoyed our meals. The starters of deep-fried calamari and jalapeños were really good. And when you eat at a restaurant with a German name, you are guaranteed delicious traditional German cuisine.

What a wonderful evening with our long-time friends and my mom. After exchanging a few final stories, it was time to head home. We took one last photo of the beautiful Marina at Club Mykonos and hope to be back here again soon.
