VISIT CLUB MYKONOS
When you first stand in the middle of Club Mykonos, you might be forgiven for thinking you’re in the heart of Greece. Especially considering the beautiful painted kalivas (accommodation inspired by Greek architecture), white sand beaches and turquoise water.
Many years ago, when we got married in 1996, we dreamed of a honeymoon in Greece. But as newlyweds, our finances were just enough to take us to Club Mykonos in Langebaan. So it’s no wonder we love visiting this resort so much!
You will find a picturesque marina with walk-on moorings for all kinds of watercraft. Here you can make use of yacht charters that will take you out on the lagoon. It’s the ideal entertainment for a summer holiday (or even just for a day!)
If you’re a scuba diver, you’re in luck too! Langebaan Divers are stationed here in Club Mykonos and will assist you if you want to explore the sea (or even just for a gentle dip in the marina). They have all the necessary equipment for rent and offer a wide variety of scuba diving.
With a total of nine restaurants at Club Mykonos, you certainly won’t go hungry! One can choose between lively cocktail bars, a farm kitchen literally situated on the beach, the ever popular and trendy Cape Town Fish Market or even German cuisine offered by Kapstadt Brauhaus. Actually, one is very spoiled for choices!
In the Agora Square you will find great gift shops and a marina supermarket. For the more adventurous there is a shop that offers trips on Harley Davidsons. And don’t forget the Agora Beach and Sport Shop with a wide range of clothes, bags, toys, etc. And yes, of course you can also find your favourite ice cream hereΒ π¦π¦.
Club Mykonos has so many activities to keep one busy. There are fun rides on wet bikes, quad biking, an indoor pool, games room and mini golf (putt-putt), to name just a few. And don’t forget about La Vita Spa where you can get facials, massages and much more!
Taking a leisurely stroll through Club Mykonos instantly puts you in a holiday mood! It almost feels like the sun is always shining here, no matter if it’s summer or winter!
Of course, Club Mykonos is also famous for the Mykonos Casino where you can win incredible prizes – you might be so lucky! There are two more restaurants inside the Casino, namely the Black Pearl Restaurant and the more informal Marisol Diner Restaurant.
Club Mykonos is definitely worth a visit when you are in Langebaan. Whether you are here for a holiday, want to have fun at some of the activities or just looking for a place to eat or enjoy a sundowner – you will love this place. Club Mykonos looks and feels like Greece, but is pure South African.
Looks heavenly. I could do with some of that right now!

This certainly looks like a wonderful resort, especially for a honeymoon! I love the way they use the term Agora Square as agora is the Greek word for market.
There is certainly no shortage of places to eat either. I remember years ago eating in a brilliant fish restaurant in central London called the Cape Town Fish Rstaurant, which is now sadly closed. I wonder if it was part of the same organisation or if they just ripped off the name.

The Cape Town Fish Market is a franchise and I’ve read the one in London was actually part of this (for 10 years). We still have a couple of these restaurants in South Africa, but I think the economy has sadly done them no favours.
Yes, everything about Club Mykonos is Greek – the names (like “agora”), the architecture and even the writing … it surely was a great honeymoon destination for us … however, we hope to visit the real Greek Island one day π

I was on Mykonos years ago (1987) and it was chaos, the ultimate party island, full of drugs, lunatic drinking (even lunatic by my standards!)

Oh … maybe we should reconsider π³

In fairness, I did revisit some years later and the Mayor and local Council had cracked down a lot, it was much less hectic. I think they were going for the family island look.
